‘We Are Family’ Miami Community Mission to Israel

Members of the Miami-Dade Jewish community are invited to participate in the “We Are Family” Miami Community Mission to Israel, June 13–24, 2010.

This 10-day mission will include the participation of Rabbi Jonathan Berkun, Rabbi Alan Litwak, Rabbi Mario Rojzman, Rabbi Terry Bookman, Cantor Mark Kula and other rabbinic leadership from the North and South Dade communities. You’ll be able to enjoy the company of friends from your own synagogue, while traveling with other families from North and South Dade.

The family-friendly itinerary features six nights at the spectacular David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem, two nights at the Kibbutz HaGoshrim in the Upper Galilee and one night at the beachfront Carlton Hotel in Tel Aviv. The mission includes kosher meals, Israeli breakfasts, transfers and air-conditioned motor coach travel in Israel with private tour guides and youth counselors.

Celebrate your child’s becoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah in Israel along with your rabbi and your community.

This is a unique opportunity to attend briefings with top Israeli speakers on politics, the economy and security. You’ll hear important behind-the-scenes information you won’t read in the newspaper or on the Internet.

Also included are visits to museums and archeological sites, Masada, the Dead Sea and a Bedouin desert extravaganza, hospitality with Israeli families, dinner with IDF soldiers and a tour of a Naval Base. Children will visit a chocolate factory and adults will enjoy a Golan winery. Hands-on volunteer activities also are scheduled and will create lasting memories for your entire family, plus you’ll experience fun-filled outdoor adventures such as rafting, ATVs, zip line, rappelling and more! The “We Are Family” Mission to Israel is a Community Partnership of Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center, Beth Torah Benny Rok Campus, Temple Sinai of North Dade, Temple Beth Am, Bet Shira Congregation and other area synagogues, together with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
